Hypnosis & Hypnotherapy are techniques that use the mind-body connection through a trance state of heightened suggestibility that allows connection to the subconscious mind to achieve heightened awareness, faster healing and change through focused suggestion. We have all experienced a hypnotic state as part of our daily life experiences. It is a natural state that we slip into and out of without really realizing what is happening. We are entirely aware, but have transcended to this altered state where we are accessing a more direct connection with our subconscicious mind. Hypnotherapy differs from hypnosis in that it involves a deliberate choice to enter this trance state of awareness for a purpose or goal beyond relaxation. That goal is to improve our health and well-being through the use of directed suggestion and subsequent action. An individual can be hypnotized by a trained Hypnotherapist and guided through the use of suggestion to reach desired goals, achieve heightened awareness or promote healing. An individual can also learn to use these techniques themselves and enter the trance state through self-hypnosis. It is really a mind-body connection going on within the individual and the person is always ultimately in control of and aware of what is happening.
